Mission

An ensemble that grows like a tree: firmly rooted, guided by a clear vision and sustained by ambitious artistic projects.
a nocte temporis strives for artistic excellence within the European Baroque repertoire and develops its work according to the image of a tree, in which roots, trunk and crown together define the identity of the ensemble.
The roots
anchor our practice in society. They encompass our inclusive and local initiatives that broaden access to classical music and reach new audiences. From this conviction emerged the festival Boutersem Buitengewoon Klassiek, which brings our artistic reality closer to the people in our region and fosters a lasting relationship with the public.
The trunk
forms the core of our artistic activity. It is built on a historically informed approach, a recognisable artistic signature in which the dialogue between voice and flute plays a central role, and close collaboration between musicians who share a common vision. This core supports both our concert practice and our educational activities.
The crown
represents our major artistic projects: international tours, opera productions, chamber music programmes and recordings that present the Baroque repertoire at a high level of excellence and contribute to the ensemble’s international profile.
Through this three-part structure, a nocte temporis aims to be an ensemble that is artistically innovative, socially relevant and sustainably rooted, while making the Baroque repertoire accessible to a broad and diverse audience.
