Ich habe genug is one of the most moving Bach cantatas. Simeon's hymn forms its liturgical framework. “I have enough” is what the old Simeon said with the baby Jesus in his arms. He would not die until he saw the Messiah with his own eyes. Now he can finally go away in peace. a nocte temporis brings the arrangement for high voice and flute that Bach made for his wife Anna Magdalena.

Les known but just as moving are the cantata Meine Seele rühmt und Preist by Melchior Hoffmann - long attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach - and Ich Armer Mensch, ich Sündenknecht, Bach's only solo cantata for tenor. From this last cantata comes the aria 'Erbarme Dich', which gave rise to the title of the first CD by a nocte temporis.

a nocte temporis will also play the Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, one of Bach's most sparkling orchestral works. The suite is structured as a series of dances and is known for its lively character and sophisticated instrumentation. The traverso plays a central role in this, culminating in the famous Badinerie, where Anna Besson can fully express her virtuosity and lightness.
